Crone: “…a woman who is venerated for experience, judgment, and wisdom.”
Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Why an art therapy practice named “Crone Rising”? This particular crone rises up and stands for deep feminine knowledge and wisdom. She is definitely strong, a bit broken-but broken like Kintsugi 🙂 She is honest enough to face her messy life with grace and forgiveness-at least she tries to most of the time. She confronts that which frightens her, and she faces trials and tribulations with humility and bravery-or at least she tries really hard to, damnit! She definitely does not care anymore what others think of her- or at least not as much as she did yesterday. As rising crones, whether you be fresh or well aged, let’s empower your internal, sometimes paradoxical, wise one by making messy marks on paper, clay, or even sand to unpack, or pack up what emerges. Crone Rising art therapy is an online service for fresh and well-aged females of all types and stripes.

Where? On Line: See the Online tab for how this works.
My therapy concentration is life transitions, tensions, trauma and transformations within relationships and with the self. Together we can explore:
- seeking hope and healing.
- how to live with trauma.
- facing grief, loss, and failure.
- Communication, relationships and restorative action practices.
- Renewed creativity and imagination: personal and artistic renewal, expansion and exploration.
- Mind-body connection: mindfulness, focus and relaxation.
- Dreams and the subconscious.
- Management and exploration of emotions and behavior.
- Self Care, empowerment and personal development.
Who: Fresh to well-lived women alike (and those who identify as such). 16 years and up.
- no art experience necessary, just an openness to mess about with the creative process: Clients are invited to paint, draw, sculpt, make assemblages, collage, use digital manipulation and photography, and create land art when possible.
- As I am an artist and art educator, clients can also invite art instruction to the degree that suits them but the emphasis of the explorations are are on process not product.
Where: Crone Rising Art Therapy is online only-it is more accessible financially!.
